Would you be interested in hosting a Norwegian intern at your company this summer?

News body

Innovation Norway - the commercial arm of the Norwegian Government abroad - and the University of Oslo have collaborated on the Norwegian School of Entrepreneurship's work and study program in the Bay Area since 1999. Over 200 Norwegian graduate students have received first-hand experience in entrepreneurship by working as interns in startups and young, fast growing companies in the Bay Area; combined with an entrepreneurship class at UC Berkeley. The students will receive 10 credits for this class. The overall objective is to give the students a taste of entrepreneurship, to help them better understand local business culture, and to stimulate ideas that can be valuable to them in the future.

Former students have interned at Cellmania, Rosum, MySQL, NeoGuide Systems, Oblix, XDx, Akimbo, Atrua, Nanosolar, Rinat, Fast Search and Transfer, MailFrontier, Global IP System, Trolltech, Aicent, PeerMe, SearchForce, XenSource, Azureus, Danger and many more. All the hosts have been very pleased with their students and the program, and want to participate again.

Other than providing the interns with office space and the equipment needed for them to succeed with their projects, there is no fee or salary to be paid by you. However, we do ask that you pay for the intern's transportation, enabling them to get to and from work (preferably a rental car). The students will most likely live in San Francisco. The program will run from June 9th through August 23rd and each student is expected to work fulltime (40 hour weeks). Student visas will be arranged by UC Berkeley, and the students have full medical coverage.

The match between the companies and the students will take place during a matchmaking event early June, when you will have a chance to talk to all the students and to give a presentation of your company.

For further information about the program and the students' including their resume's and photos see Innovation Norway website.
