Please join us at Stanford’s Tresidder Memorial Union, Oak Room, on May 22, 2008, 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., for a program organized by Silicon Vikings, in conjunction with the Fifth Innovation Journalism Conference at Stanford, entitled “Observations on Silicon Valley: What Makes Silicon Valley Tick”.
For the past five years professional journalists from the Nordic region, and other parts of the world, have been participating in the Innovation Journalism Program at Stanford. As part of the program the Innovation Journalism Fellow have had the opportunity to work at publications which cover innovation, entrepreneurship and the “Silicon Valley” experience.
Three of the current InJo Fellows will be making “Observations on Silicon Valley: What Makes Silicon Valley Tick?” in a panel discussion moderated by Richard Allan Horning, Principal at Fish & Richardson PC and President of Silicon Vikings. The panelists will discuss such topics as: What’s unique about Silicon Valley?; What lessons can be learned from Silicon Valley?; What practical steps can be taken to increase innovation and entrepreneurship in the Nordic Region?; How is life for a journalist in Silicon Valley different from the practice of journalism in the Nordic Region?
The participating InJo Fellows will be:
Cecilia Aronsson, Veckans Affärer, Stockholm, Injo Fellow hosted by VentureBeat
Irina Haltsonen, Helsingin Sanomat, Helsinki, Injo Fellow hosted by GigaOm
Kajsa Linnarsson, Fiber Optic Valley, Hudiksvall, Sweden, Injo Fellow hosted by PC World
This special program is sponsored by Vinnova, the Swedish Agency for Innovation; Linköpings University; Silicon Valley Bank; Fish & Richardson P.C.
Food and wine will be on offer courtesy of the Sponsors and the Innovation Journalism Program at Stanford. And of course great networking!
