Please join us at Wallenberg Hall, on the Stanford Campus, October 21,2009, 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., for “Chalmers Innovation Night”. This will be an exciting evening where you will have an opportunity to see and hear a group of 6 young companies spun out off Chalmers University pitch to a distinguished panel of Silicon Valley VC’s, entrepreneurs and chief technology officers.
The six companies who will be pitching are:
Icomera designs and manufactures award-winning technology that bridges Wi-Fi and Ethernet with cellular networks to deliver Internet connectivity for freight and passenger transport, public safety, enterprise and municipal network applications.
MicVac offers the food industry unique solutions for the production of tasty, high-quality convenience food.
Nano Factory develops, manufactures and markets systems and services that enable both corporate and academic players to carry out frontline research, development and production with nanometer precision.
Oxeon develops, produces and markets patented spread tow carbon reinforcements that give users increased mechanical performance for their composite products.
Qbtech has developed and marketed products that contribute to the clinical evaluation and assessment of treatment effects for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Parkinson’s disease, and other movement disorders.
Vehco is marketing, selling and developing mobile computer solutions for the haulage business.
The panel of judges to whom the 6 companies will pitch are:

Magnus Ryde, Partner, Mars Capital Group, Menlo Park
Peter S. Magnusson, Founder, Square Two Technology, Cupertino
Eero Teerikorpi, Managing Partner, Blue White Partners, San Jose
Henry Tirri, VP Research, Nokia, Palo Alto
Dr. Jan Uddenfeldt, Senior VP and Senior Technology Advisor, Ericsson, San Jose
Mårten Mickos, former President, MySQL, Menlo Park
Moderator:
Richard Allan Horning, Principal, Fish & Richardson PC, Redwood City
Other participants:
The six companies are in a VINNOVA sponsored business development consortia with the Center for Business Innovation (CBI) at Chalmers. Representing CBI at this special event will be Prof. Sören Sjölander, the person behind many of the organizations within the Chalmers Innovation System, Associate Prof. Jonas Larsson, Dr. Henrik Berglund, and Mr Fredrik Borg. Three business coaches from Chalmers Innovation, will also be present, as will Timo Lehes, Investment Manager at the Chalmers Innovation Seed Fund. The U.S. Friends of Chalmers, a co-sponsor of the event, will be represented by Bo Larsson, CEO of Firetide, Inc.

This event will be a fundraiser for Silicon Vikings, $20 payable at the door. The wine will be supplied courtesy of Silicon Valley Bank (thanks to Kent Håkanson, Senior VP) and the appetizers and other beverages will be courtesy of the U.S. Friends of Chalmers, a not-for-profit fund.
