There’s A New Book In Town And It Tells You How To Work The Silicon Valley

Silicon Valley Journey – Experience of Finnish IT Startups from Dot-Com to 2010 is a new book published just recently that delves into the secrets of Silicon Valley from the Finnish perspective. It’s written by Raija Repo and Marita Seulamo-Vargas, two Finnish business journalist residing in the Silicon Valley. Pekka Pärnänen of Finnode had also his fingers in the pie in making the book happen. The book is at the same time a guide to how to go about entering the Valley with your startup and a window into the history of Finnish technology entrepreneurship. At least into the history of those who were ambitious enough to try to enter the infamous Bay Area. Google to make cash offer to acquire Global IP Solutions

(OSE:GIPS) of Stockholm and San Francisco, today announced that they have entered into a transaction
agreement under which Google Acquisition Holdings Inc., a wholly owned
subsidiary of Google, will make a recommended voluntary public cash
offer to acquire all the issued and to be issued shares of GIPS for NOK
13.0 (USD 2.12) in cash per share, or an aggregate price of
approximately NOK 421 million (USD 68.2 million) based on the currently

Clean Nordic Power Seeding A Brand In Silicon Valley

Nordic and Estonian cleantech companies showed off their latest innovations in smart grid, biofuels, renewable energy, green building and water management in Silicon Valley last week at Nordic Green II. Vision Capital of Burlingame has acquired a majority stake in Nordax Finans AB from Palamon Capital Partners. The deal valued Nordax Finans at approximately €105 million. Virtutech was founded in 1998 to continue developing work first started at Swedish Institute of Computer Science, Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), on a simulator to support computer architecture and operating system research, eventually named “Simics” (short for “the SICS Simulator”). Peter was the founder and CEO of Virtutech for many years, helping the company to become the dominating third-party full system simulation system, with a stellar cast of customers over the years including Sun Microsystems, Ericsson, AMD, HP, IBM, Cisco, Freescale, and Honeywell. Cisco completes Tandberg acquisition

Cisco Systems Inc. said Monday it is wrapping up its acquisition of Norwegian video communications company Tandberg ASA.
